Theatre Production Training
Theatre Production Roles & Responsibilities Courses and Workshops are a significant part of our Actors Umbrella community outreach training program.
Theatre Companies in the region were canvassed to determine the areas where companies felt their staff and members could most use training:. Actors Umbrella has responded by developing workshops and courses in both those areas: the Stage Management weekend workshop which began in Summer 2006. Our Stage Management program has evolved into a two-part program Stage Management Workshop Part 1(basic) and Stage Management Workshop Part 11 (intermediate).
ATW Actors Umbrella 2008 January Course will take pace at the United Way Offices, 300 Giles Street East, Unit A1, Main Boardroom.. Saturday morning, muffins and coffee are available to students as part of the course fee. As there is only one hour for break at mid-day, it is suggested that students bring a lunch with them to the course on Saturday and Sunday.
Stage Management Workshop Part 1:

Description: This 18-hr Workshop is designed to take new and intermediate stage managers from ‘pre-production’ through the ‘rehearsal process’ to ‘calling the show’. Course materials are included in the fee.
Cost: $100.00 Cdn/USD (AEA & CAEA, Community Theatre members $80.00 Cdn or USD)

THE INSTRUCTORS:
Valerie Bonasso: is a graduate of the University of Windsor's Theatre Program. She has worked professionally at regional theatres across Canada as a Production and Stage Manager and Tour Manager. Lighting credits include American Buffalo, How I Learned To Drive, The Mercy Seat, True West and Two Rooms. Directing credits includes True West. This season Valerie directed Hedwig and the Angry Inch and is Breathe Art’s Lighting Designer. Valerie is an Artistic Partner in the Breathe Art Theatre Project Collective.
